Robert A. Jacobs has practiced for more than thirty five years in the areas of real estate law, including development, acquisition, financing, zoning and zoning litigation; corporate and business law; and commercial litigation. His real estate practice includes representation of builders, developers, lenders, contractors and municipalities involving property acquisition, industrial financing and construction and development of both commercial and residential projects of all varieties including industrial parks, shopping centers, apartments, mixed use developments, subdivisions and mobile home parks; leasing and other property disposition. Mr. Jacobs has significant trial and appellate experience in all areas of real estate practice and before municipal and state agencies including planning commissions, city councils, township boards, zoning boards of appeals and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. Mr. Jacobs was born in Detroit, Michigan, on August 23, 1941. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan (A.B., 1963), and his law degree from Wayne State University (J.D., 1967). He was admitted to the bar in Michigan in 1967. Mr. Jacobs is admitted to practice in all Michigan Courts, the United States District Court, Eastern District and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Jacobs participated in drafting the State of Michigan Security Deposit Act.
